How to set up a tablet for the Manual Release feature

If your organization is using an Android tablet for the Manual Release feature, a dedicated Princh application is available in the Google Play Store.

The Princh application, Princh Cloud Console, is the dedicated interface for both the Manual Release feature, as well as the Copy & Scan solution. It can be found and installed through the Google Play Store . There are two steps to setting up the tablet for the Manual Release feature:

  • Enabling Manual Release in the Princh Administration Panel. Before installing the Princh Cloud Console, please refer to our guide on how to enable Manual Release.
  • Installing and configuring the Princh Cloud Console application on the tablet.

Installing and configuring the Princh Cloud Console application the tablet

  1. Navigate to and open up the Google Play Store on your Android tablet.

  2. Search for "Princh Cloud Console" and install the application.

  3. When you open the application for the first time, you will need to log in using your Princh user account. This is the same email and password that you use for the Princh Administration Panel.
    1. Both Princh staff and admin accounts can be used to log in on the tablet and will not interfere with your account in any ways.
  4. After logging into the application, you will be prompted to enter the Printer ID for the assigned printer. You can find the Printer ID in the Princh Administration Panel.
    1. By checking the box "Allow print-jobs to other printers on the location to be released from this device" print jobs sent to a different printer can be released from the tablet that is being set up, despite having a different printer ID. This is oftentimes useful, if you have multiple printers at the same location, but only one tablet used for release. Note that the print jobs will still print at the printer they were sent to.

  5. If all is set up correctly, a confirmation page will be prompted.

  6. Depending on what you have activated on the printer, you can now choose "Scan to Email", "Copy" or "Release Print Job".
    1. If you do not see any of the options mentioned above, please make sure that they are enabled in the Princh Administration Panel for the specific printer that you are connecting to.
