Printer Requirements

The following Printer Requirements must be met in order to successfully implement and use Princh the solution.

Depending on which Princh Solution your organization is deploying, there are slightly different, but equally important Printer Requirements, which must be met for the Princh service to run. To learn more about the Princh solution, you can refer to the Printer Requirements below or download the complete PDF version of the Technical Requirements.

The extended Princh Cloud Connector Technical Requirements can be downloaded in a PDF-version.

Printer Requirements for BYOD & Public PC

  • Each printer must have a fixed local IP address or a fixed local DNS name.
  • For security reasons we recommend that printers are not located on publicly available networks. Additionally, this will also ensure that users can’t circumvent payment.
  • For driverless printing (optimal performance):
    • IPP protocol must be supported and enabled on printers.
    • The printers must be connected to the network directly – not via a USB print server.
    • The Printer must be configured to allow unauthenticated print jobs from the printer server.

MFP Requirements for Copy & Scan solution

  • Each MFP must have a fixed local IP address or a fixed local DNS name.
  • Princh Copy & Scan requires the MFP to support AirPrint version 1.4 or newer. If you are unsure about whether your MFP meets this requirement, Princh Support will be happy to help you find out.
  • To enhance security and simplify the configuration of the authentication settings, Princh strongly recommends that MFPs are not located on publicly available networks.
