When is it a good idea to replace our old tablets?

If your tablet used for Princh Copy&Scan does not have the full functionality anymore. It is slow in responding or, in general, acts unstable, it might be software-wise outdated.

The Princh Cloud Console app relies on Android WebView to render content, so keeping Android System WebView up to date is essential for performance and security. However, using tablets that have reached their end-of-life (EOL) carries a few potential risks worth considering:

  1. Security vulnerabilities: Once a device stops receiving Android OS and security updates, it may become increasingly vulnerable to security threats, even if Android System WebView is updated. This can be particularly important in public access environments like libraries or municipal buildings.

  2. Compatibility issues: While the Princh app is designed to be lightweight and stable across a wide range of Android versions, future updates to our Princh Cloud Console app or Android System WebView may not perform as expected on older, unsupported operating systems.

  3. Device performance and reliability: Older hardware can experience reduced performance, battery degradation, or other reliability issues over time, which may affect the overall user experience.
